Union Street Partners’ Nick Willson has been engaged in pro bono property advice for the Oasis Children’s Venture in Stockwell and we are delighted to report that his recent negotiations have helped to provide occupational security and growth for the charity.
For the last year or so, Union Street Partners’ Nick Willson has been engaged in some pro bono property advice for the Oasis Children’s Venture in Stockwell, alongside fellow Stockwell resident Simon Prig of Farrer & Co, acting as their pro bono legal advisor.
Oasis Children’s Venture is a local charity that runs three different and unique facilities for children and young people from less privileged family’s, or suffering from disabilities. The three facilities take the form of a nature garden, a go-karting track and an adventure playground which are all run on a not-for-profit basis with a mix of voluntary and full time staff.
The three sites, extending to circa 2.5 acres and owned by Lambeth Council, have been run by the charity for over a decade, two on a licence, one on no formal agreement at all. Acting with Simon, Nick’s remit was to regulate the lease structures to allow occupational security and growth for the charity and we are delighted to report that following successful negotiations, new 10-15 year inside the act leases were agreed for all three sites on reduced rents subject to seven years rent free. This will give the charity the ability to build a business plan into the future and help them continue their good work.
For more information on the charity please see their website http://oasisplay.org.uk/. We wish them all the best in their growth plans and look forward to seeing, what will no doubt be, fantastic changes ahead.BACK TO NEWS
